HOW ACQUIRED : Signed by the New England Patriots as an unrestricted free agent on July 24, 2008.

Finished 4th on the Patriots with 71 tackles after missing the final three games of the season....(2007) Started all 16 games, of the season ... Elected defensive team captain ... (2006) Team captain .. Led the team with 124 tackles (67 solo) in 2006, a career first ... (2005) Earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for a 10-tackle performance against the Bills (10/30/05), his first game back after suffering a suffering stroke that February ... (2004) Named team defensive co-captain ... Finished second on the team with 128 tackles (84 solo) and tied for second with 3 interceptions ... Named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week three times ... Finished second in team tackles 137 (87 solo) behind Rodney Harrison's 140... (2003) Earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice during the regular season ... was named defensive captain ... (2002) ...elected team captain, started 9 games at middle linebacker ... (2001) started 9 of 16 games at linebacker... (2000) started 16 games at outside linebacker.... Bruschi played defense for the Arizona Wildcats as a defensive end where he tied the NCAA Division I-A career sack record with 52 QB sacks. He finished his collegiate career having amassed 185 total tackles (137 solo), forced six fumbles and recovered five others.

Personal: Tedy Lacap Bruschi was born on June 9, 1973 in San Francisco, Calif. He is the son of Anthony Sr. and Juanita Bruschi. Bruschi attended Roseville High (CA), playing football where he was a two-time team caption and earned all-conference, all-northern California and all-metro honors. Bruschi participated in both track and wrestling earning letters in all three sports. Tedy and his wife, Heidi, have three sons, Tedy, Jr and Rex and Dante.

Notes: Bruschi suffered a mild stroke one week after his pro-bowl appearance in February of 2005. He had been out of football recovering through the first six weeks of the 2005 NFL Season. The Patriots placed Bruschi on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. He returned to action the following week
