Bart Scott 2006 Contract Status: Bart re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens on a 3 year deal worth $13.5 million, including a signing bonus of $6.5 million.
Bart Scott Player History:
Scott entered the league as an undrafted rookie out of Southern Illinois. He was an All-Gateway first team player as linebacker his senior year. He played primarily on special teams his first few seasons in the league and also contributed well as a backup linebacker. Bart's first big play of his NFL career was an interception against Tennessee in the Ravens endzone in his rookie season. Scott has even gotten a game ball for his efforts in special teams. In 2005, when Ray Lewis went on Injured Reserve, Scott started in his place and finished second on the Ravens' defense with 83 tackles. He also accumulated 4 sacks.
Bart Scott Facts: Wore # 9 while playing with the Salukis of Southern Illinois... Signed as a Rookie Free Agent with the Ravens in 2002... Played mainly on Special Teams during 2002, but had increased playing time after Ray Lewis was injured...Re-signed with the Ravens after briefly visiting the Cleveland Browns...Rex Ryan, in Bart Scott's re-signing press conference referred to Bart Scott as "an every down starter" for the Ravens.
