Thrilling running back who can break just about any play. Very elusive and can lurk behind blockers and explode into the open field. Lack of power and pass-catching ability like will mark him as a third-down who can contribute in the return game.
Biography:
Entering his junior year, Maurice Drew is one of the more exciting players nationally and a candidate for post-season honors. During a productive and record-breaking sophomore year, Drew rushed for 1,007 yards (6.3 ypc) despite suffering an ankle injury that sidelined him for most of three games and him also splitting carries with Manuel White. During the season, Drew scored 12 touchdowns (8 rushing, 3 receiving and one on a punt return) and had 18 catches for 262 yards. Set a UCLA-record (and third all-time in the Pac-10) during the Bruins win at Washington, rushing for 322 yards and 5 touchdowns, and being unanimously selected the National Player of the Week. Nine of his 19 career touchdowns have been at least 47 yards. During his career, in which he has split time with other tailbacks, Drew has rushed for 1,589 yards
