Career Notes:
The two time NFL Rushing Champion is playing 2005 under the franchise tag tender in Indianpolis. Edgerrin is the most prolific rusher in the Colt's storied history accumulating 7,720 rushing yards on 1,828 carries with 51 TDs rushing. He also has 312 receptions for 2,502 yards and 10 TDs receiving for a grand total of 10,222 yards from scrimmage and 61 TD's for his career coming into the 2005 season. Edgerrin has been selected to the Pro Bowl 3 times as the starter for the AFC Squad and has accumulated many other honors during his professional career including Rookie of the Year honors from several organizations, running back of the year awards, and has been named the AFC Offensive player of the week 6 times and AFC Offensive player of the month twice. At Miami he was a two-year starter and ranked second all-time on Miami’s career rushing list and was the only player in school history to post consecutive 1,000+ rushing seasons despite only starting 17 games in his 2 years as a starter. His 35 total touchdowns also tied a Miami record. He was selected as an All-Big East first-team and The Sports Network All-America second-team while being a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, given annually to the nation’s top RB.
