Quarterback: B-minus Joe Flacco completed 27 of 47 passes for 264 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for a 78.7 quarterback rating. He threw his first red-zone interception of the season. However, he was nearly intercepted a few more times and failed to recognize some clever New England defensive scheme adjustments.

Overall, he rallied the team well and nearly pulled off the comeback. He wasn't entirely in sync with his targets.

Receiver: C-plus
Mark Clayton had a critical dropped pass on fourth down in the fourth quarter at the end of the game that was pivotal to the final outcome as a catch would have given the Ravens a first-and-goal. Derrick Mason gamely caught seven passes for 88 yards and a touchdown, injuring his back on the play and returning. Todd Heap contributed four catches for 46 yards. There wasn’t enough of a vertical game.

Running back: B
Ray Rice rushed for 103 yards on 11 carries, also catching five passes for 49 yards. Willis McGahee got the start, but was ineffective running the ball with 11 yards on five carries. He scored on a 13-yard touchdown over the middle, though. The Ravens didn’t run the ball nearly enough, though.

Offensive line: B-minus
Although Joe Flacco was sacked twice, the pass protection was solid overall. They also had to adjust on the fly with left offensive tackle Jared Gaither being carted off the field with a neck and shoulder injury and taken to a hospital for tests. Rookie Michael Oher shifted to left tackle and Marshal Yanda stepped in at right tackle. There wasn't as much push as usual up the middle for the running game.

Defensive line: B-minus
Tom Brady was sacked three times, but the Ravens probably needed even more pressure to win this one. Trevor Pryce had five tackles and a sack. Haloti Ngata had three tackles, one for a loss. Dwan Edwards recovered Brady's fumble for a touchdown.

Linebacker: B
Middle linebacker Ray Lewis led the Ravens with 14 tackles. Terrell Suggs' sack and forced fumble set up Dwan Edwards' touchdown. Dannell Ellerbe had five tackles, but missed a big open-field shot at Laurence Maroney. He recovered to deliver some big hits. New England rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. Jarret Johnson had eight tackles.

Secondary: C-plus
Although they did a solid job of containing Randy Moss for the most part, cornerback Domonique Foxworth couldn't stop him from getting in the end zone for the first time this year. Tom Brady picked them apart at times, completing 21 of 32 passes for 258 yards and no interception for a 100.8 quarterback rating. Rarely did the Ravens ever make a play on the football. Wes Welker did what he wanted most of the time.

Special teams: C
Chris Carr's fumble on the opening kickoff led to a 32-yard field goal. Rookie Lardarius Webb had an impressive 38-yard kickoff return in relief of Carr. Punter Sam Koch averaged 46.3 yards. Steve Hauschka didn't attempt any field goals. The kick coverage was very good.
