Police charged Chase Maran Williams, 21, of Randallstown with attempted
first-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault stemming
from an incident early Sunday morning when he allegedly stabbed Green in the
stomach.
Williams was arrested without incident in Baltimore City and is being held in
the Second Precinct of Baltimore until his bail hearing, according to a
Baltimore County police news release.
Green, 24, was released from Sinai Hospital on Monday after being upgraded to
good condition. His injuries aren’t considered to be serious and team officials
expect the reserve defender and special-teams standout to be ready for training
camp July 27 in Westminster.
Williams was described in the arrest warrant as a 6-foot-1, 170-pound black man
with a shaved head and brown eyes. Police officials described him as armed and
dangerous and cautioned that he shouldn't be approached.
Authorities released a surveillance video from a bowling alley security camera
that demonstrates Green being chased in the parking lot by a man they identified
as Williams following the stabbing at Kings Point Lanes bowling center in the
4100 block of Deer Park Rd. in Randallstown.
The video shows the 6-foot-2, 245-pound Green running away from a much smaller
man believed to be wielding a knife or a sharp object, police officials said.
The incident escalated after Green and the man accidentally bumped into each
other and argued. Green left the bowling alley and was pursued by the man and
stabbed one time, according to police reports. Green managed to outrun the
alleged attacker after being stabbed.
The police also wish to speak with a witness described as a black man wearing a
white T-shirt and tan shorts that was captured in the surveillance video.
Green is entering his third season and recorded 11 tackles and two sacks in 16
games last season for the Ravens.
