Baltimore Ravens notes - Thursday

A few miscellaneous notes from today

TRAINING ROOM: Running back Jamal Lewis (foot, ankle) won't play in Friday's game against the New Orleans Saints, along with Boulware, cornerback Samari Rolle (knee) running back Musa Smith (leg), linebacker Tyson Smith (ankle), linebacker Dan Cody (knee), tight end Todd Heap (shoulder) and offensive guard Edwin Mulitalo (personal reasons).

Linebacker Adalius Thomas (knee) is likely to be a game-time decision along with fullback Alan Ricard (calf).

"A.D. looks pretty good," Ravens coach Brian Billick said. "It looks like he should be okay, but we'll see."

If Thomas and Ricard are unavailable, Jarrett Johnson and Ovie Mughelli would start again in their place.

After missing the first two preseason games with a leg injury, nickel back Dale Carter (leg) is expected to start with Rolle out.

ON THE BUBBLE: The Ravens have until Tuesday to cut their roster down to a league-mandated 65 players, which means this will be the final game for 19 players that went through training camp.

The Ravens' roster is currently at 84 players, and that's not counting Musa Smith (physically unable to perform list).

"For some guys, this is a career-maker," Billick said.

JERSEY RETIRED: They haven't forgotten NFL Defensive Player of the Year Ed Reed at Destrehan High School in his hometown of St. Rose, La.

The Pro Bowl safety's No. 20 jersey was retired in a ceremony that included Reed, Billick, Ray Lewis, Deion Sanders and Ozzie Newsome.

"This means a lot to me," said Reed, who grew up watching the Saints. "This takes me all the way back to my roots."
