<p>Linebacker Johnny Rutledge joined the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday night and was expected to sign a one-year contract for the veteran minimum.<br>

At 6-foot-3 and 239 pounds, Rutledge can play both inside and outside
"What I like the most was he kept himself in shape," Ravens director of pro
personnel George Kokinis said. "This was a job interview for him and he worked
out extremely well. He was fluid in his drops. He caught the ball well.
"His approach was very professional. He runs well. He bolsters our depth and
we're looking forward to seeing what he can do."
Rutledge played primarily on special teams last season with six tackles in 14
games. Since being drafted 51st overall in 1999, Rutledge has four career
starts with 38 tackles, two for losses, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
