Ravens re-sign Vonta Leach
The Pro Bowl fullback signed a two-year deal on Monday to re-join the Ravens. Leach will begin practicing with the team on Wednesday, after the Ravens take a day off on Tuesday.
The Ravens asked to incentivize $1 million of the $3 million he was initially due in 2013 earlier this offseason, to which Leach disagreed. Baltimore released Leach, who then tested the free agent market.
He talked with Dolphins, Giants and Texans, but ultimately found his way back to Baltimore. The Giants offered a veteran minimum deal and the Texans weren't offering much either.
Though talks heated up, the Dolphins never formally offered Leach.
With Leach coming back, the Ravens can now use him in the power run game and let rookie Kyle Juszczyk learn the ropes as a lead blocker. Leach adds a power dynamic to the Baltimore backfield as a lead blocker for both Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce.
